Ickies & Igloos

Today was a dr. appointment day. Gunner & Grace have seemed under the weather & we wanted to make sure they aren't contagious for our trip to Marshall. Dr. Raad said Gunner had an ear infection in his left ear...one more & he goes back to the ENT. Grace just had a URI so no meds for her. :( Gavin hung out with Mimi while mommy took the other kiddos to Quincy.

Before the appointment, we created igloos out of marshmellows & styrofoam cups. Gavin really got into it & was pretty creative! Gunner did more eating than glueing, hence the reason he ran out of marshmellows to completely cover his igloo.

Snowmen seem to be hot on the craft list these days! This morning we used Q-tips to paint our Frosty's & snow, then glued on scraps of ribbon & pom poms for the hat, scarf, & buttons. It was the perfect day to create our snowmen since tomorrow's forcast calls for temps in the 60's, meaning our real Frosty say good bye! We then headed to Mimi & Papa's to spend one more day with Josh, Lea, Hayden, & Ava.

Christmas 2010

We began our Christmas celebration on Christmas Eve, setting out cookies for Santa, carrots for the reindeer, reindeer dust we sprinkled on the front lawn, & the reading of "Twas the Night Before Christmas". We had to miss the Christmas Eve service due to the storm & Gunner not feeling 100%.


The kids actually slept in until about 9:00 so we got a late start. I attempted to take a picture of the kids with their presents BEFORE opening but Gunner became very upset. He then pouted & didn't even want to open his "big" present, knowing from Gavin that it was their long awaited monster truck & boat. Santa also brough their Nerf guns, garbage trucks, & a WII w/ the deer hunting game. Grace got some dress up stuff & a pink retro kitchen. I absolutely love it!

Santa pancakes! Ok, so the kids didn't really like them but they were really festive! Gonna have to come up with something better tasting for next year!

Christmas Jammies!

Picture Perfect!

This was mommy's attempt to "redneck curl" Grace's hair for our Christmas pictures. I used pipe cleaners as curlers & it turned out pretty good, except that a few times the hair got caught. I just plopped her in a chair in front of Dora & we were good to go!

We used balloons & white paint to create our snowmen this morning while waiting to go get our pictures. The kids dipped the balloons in the paint & then created three balls. They then used pom poms & construction paper to create the rest of the details.

The final projects! Grace's turned into more of a snow fort than a snowman!

Saavy Santa's

Although Gavin is only gone three mornings a week, I have really enjoyed having him home over the break. This morning we made the traditional Santa's with cotton ball beards & hats. They look geat on our tree!

The Snowy Day

We had temps in the 50's today so we headed out before all the snow melted away! The kids & I created our first Frosty of the season & had a gruelsome snowball fight. The boys trashed the yard with their their Gator and F150, but it was worth the all the smiles on their faces!
