Bunny Poses

It was very difficult to get Gavin to pose for these pictures. He wanted nothing to do with sitting down next to the bunny. He desperately wanted to get back down to the floor. Still, they're cute pictures and I couldn't decide which ones I liked so I included all of the poses.

Gabe wanted a picture with the bunny, too. By himself! :-)

The First Supper

Here we all are eating our first meal in the new dining room. As you can see, Mima and Papa pulled out all the stops for this Easter feast and served our drinks using their fine china! :-) Actually, their real glasses were ruined by the new dish washer and these worked just as well! The meal was delicious!

This little poem broke my heart! I can't imagine acting like that to my son in the first place, but I guess I am a new mom!

F A M I L Y

I ran into a stranger as he passed by,
'Oh excuse me please' was my reply.

He said, 'Please excuse me too;
I wasn't watching for you.'

We were very polite, this stranger and I.
We went on our way and we said goodbye.

But at home a different story is told,
How we treat our loved ones, young and old.

Later that day, cooking the evening meal,
My son stood beside me very still.

When I turned, I nearly knocked him down.
'Move out of the way,' I said with a frown.

He walked away, his little heart broken.
I didn't realize how harshly I'd spoken.

While I lay awake in bed,
God's still small voice came to me and said,

'While dealing with a stranger,
common courtesy you use,
but the family you love, you seem to abuse.

Go and look on the kitchen floor,
You'll find some flowers there by the door.

Those are the flowers he brought for you.
He picked them himself: pink, yellow and blue.

He stood very quietly not to spoil the surprise,
you never saw the tears that filled his little eyes.'

By this time, I felt very small,
And now my tears began to fall.

I quietly went and knelt by his bed;
'Wake up, little one, wake up,' I said.

'Are these the flowers you picked for me?'
He smiled, 'I found 'em, out by the tree.

I picked 'em because they're pretty like you.
I knew you'd like 'em, especially the blue.'

I said, 'Son, I'm very sorry for the way I acted today;
I shouldn't have yelled at you that way.'
He said, 'Oh, Mom, that's okay.
I love you anyway.'

I said, 'Son, I love you too,
and I do like the flowers, especially the blue.'

Are you aware that if we died tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of days. But the family we left behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives.

Easter Baskets and Hunts

Here is Gavin opening his first Easter basket! It was a Cars basket filled with lots of goodies, including a football bunny, Cardinals outfit, Carters romper (WAY cute!), a Cars book, packages of crackers and candy that made great noises, and a froggie blanket w/ plush toy. The Easter bunny even brought something for Mommy and Daddy, too! Thank you, Easter Bunny!

Gavin also got his first Easter egg during the Easter Egg Hunt. Auntie Jen helped him find one that Gabe couldn't quite reach. Uncle Brian and Mommy had the honors of hiding the eggs for Gavin and Gabe.

I'm the BIG brother!

Yes, it's true! For those of you who have not heard, I am expecting again! I am currently in my 17th week and due September 24th. That will make Gavin and his little sibling 1 year and 26 days apart! We will be one busy family! We will hopefully find out the sex of the baby during our ultrasound on April 24th. Although a baby girl would be nice for mommy, a baby boy will be welcomed to be a 'lil buddy to Gavin. I hope to be able to reveal the name to you when we announce the sex as well--way ahead of Gavin when we named him after his birth. I had relatively the same first trimester with this baby as I did with Gavin, although it seemed worse since I already had one to take care of. Now into my second trimemester, I have more energy and less nausea! I have started to show a little sooner with this one, but I'm not complaining. For those of you who do not like to see pregnant bellies, BEWARE! I will be posting pictures throughout the rest of the pregnancy! Please keep the baby and me in your prayers that we may have a healthier start to life than we did with Gavin.

Happy Easter!

Our Easter holiday was spent at the new Neally Household. Auntie Jen and Cousin Gabe were able to make it back for a week to celebrate with us. Auntie Jen came to watch Gavin for a few days in MC while Gabe went to spend time with Mima and Papa. While the boys aren't really at good ages to be able to really play together, they both had fun taking turns playing with Mima and Papa. Gabe decided he didn't like the new house upon arrival, but after a few days he came to the conclusion that he now likes it. He now has his own Car's playroom (I say his own--but I mean "his own" until Baby Gavin and Baby Hayden can join in on the fun) and enjoys movies in the theatre. Gavin loves to sit and pick at the carpet as it is more plush and colorful than the carpet at home. Clint enjoys the pond (pictures to come) although it's still too cold to actually catch any fish, plus he enjoys the endless supply of starkisses which he now gets to share with Gavin (also included in pix to come). Mommy likes the bubble garden tub although she can't fully enjoy it until she can make the water warmer (reason why to come). Here are some family pictures from the weekend.

Sure...Daddy smiles when it's just a picture of him and Gavin! OK, so maybe they do look a little bit alike.

But hey, I see me in him, too! I was actually wearing a springy dress but it is covered by my sweater!

More Gavin and Logan. We just couldn't get enough of these two! Aren't they just as cute-as-can-be??

My First Haircut!! Gavin's hair was getting rather long around his ears and in the back. We decided we'd better get it trimmed up before it turned into a mullet. Who better to give us our first cut than Aunt Cynthia! She did a great job even with the wind blowing and Gavin climbing all over Daddy. In just a couple more months she'll have to fly back and do it again!

Happy Seven Month Birthday, Gavin! He is now 28 1/2 inches long and weighs 18 pounds. He loves to eat his baby food and is less and less interested in his bottle. He has cut four teeth already and looks as if he will shortly be getting more! He has starting saying "da da" on a frequent basis, although I think he'd have much more fun saying "ma ma"! Gavin pretty much sits on his own with the occasional toppling over. He will army crawl/scoot to get his favorite toys, but he'd much rather stand himself up and hold onto someone's hands to get places faster. He is such a strong boy and so much fun right now. We look forward to seeing what new and exciting milestones this month will bring.

The piano continues to be one of his favorite toys.

Perfect Pals

Uncle Brian, Aunt Cynthia, Logan, and Grammy all came back to watch Gavin one more day. They arrived late Sunday night so he didn't get to see them until Monday morning. Boy was he glad to wake up and see them again! We tried to convince them that Brian didn't really need a job and that they would be just as happy living with us. Logan and Gavin would have so much fun! Unfortunately, they thought it was pretty important for Brian to return to his job in Texas. We hope it won't be too long before the boys can see each other again.

As I mentioned in a previous post, Uncle Brian became Gavin's buddy during their stay.

The plastic spoon Logan is now holding was a favorite amongst the boys. They occasionally fought for it!

Logan still has dibs on the "prized" spoon as Gavin is content to dribble the basketball attached to his hand.

Well, it looks like Gavin has taken over control of the spoon!

Here Gavin and Logan are at the Mexican restaurant in town. They had fun sitting in the high chairs next to each other. Aunt Cynthia really enjoyed eating there-three times in three days!

Logan went to an Easter egg hunt over the weekend and won the boys some bunnies! They seemed to really enjoy them!
