My Fourth Month

I warned you! Several people have asked what I look like this time around. Still a pretty small bump, but it has made some progress since the picture was taken. Today is my first day of wearing actual maternity clothes. Some are still pretty big on me, but at least I don't look like a stuffed sausage.

Isn't this cool? Ok, so it's not really our son that you see, but Clint and I thought this picture was classic. We found out early this morning that we will be having another baby boy. We have decided on the first name of Gunner, but have not narrowed down the middle name yet. We did not get the OB's report as a radiologist has to examine the photos, but he appeared to be a healthy boy! We noticed his boy parts and his feet were quite large, as they were for Gavin as well. I think this little guy is going to have to come a bit early to prevent mama from pushing out a 10-11 pounder! They will do another ultrasound closer to the date to measure the size of the fetus to know if I will need to be induced a week or two early. As tempting as it will be, my first induction was not much fun so I will not do it unless it is suggested. So, we have our little quarterback and receiver now! Won't it be a mouthful for the announcer...Grothaus to Grothaus! Guess we'll still be trying for the cheerleader on the sidelines!

Spring Weather, Stroller Rides, and Sunglasses

These were actually taken about three weeks ago when we had about a week of beautiful spring weather. Gavin and I would head to the stroller immediately after school to take our walk and then Gavin and Daddy would spend time exploring outside after we returned. Then came the cold spell which ruined our fun outdoors! We've had some pretty good weather this past week and hope the warm-up continues!

Gavin loves being able to sit up like a big boy in his stroller!

He is usually pretty good at leaving his cool shades on!

Fun With Carrots!

Mommy usually does a good job of keeping Gavin clean during his meals. However, on this night it just wasn't meant to be. These are pictures of Gavin after he sneezed several times and after he learned that he could spit the carrots when he was taking a bite. After the first sneeze, I felt it was useless to get cleaned up until after it was all gone.

Daddy's Boy

Gavin is showing that he is definitely Daddy's boy. Forget about blizzards, sundaes, or waffle bowls, his daddy is addicted to DQ starkisses. We found out over the weekend that Gavin really enjoys them, too! I guess if you want to see Clint and Gavin, you'll have better luck if you have a freezer stocked with cherry starkisses!

Mommy's Helper

Gavin enjoys helping mommy do laundry because he gets to take a ride on top of the clothes! He also really enjoys being nearly naked. Clothes are too restricting for him!

Sink Bath

Mommy finally started letting Gavin take bathes in the sink now that we have surpassed sub-zero temps outside. Plus, our water bill has been out of control with 3 showers (Clint takes two) and a full bath everyday. Gavin enjoys the sink because he loves to play with the faucet (Yes, I watch him closely to make sure he doesn't turn on hot water!) and he can make bigger splashes and messes in the sink. Here he is taking the first sink bath at Mima and Papa's.

Gavin is actually sitting in water but Mima had the sink so padded with towels it was hard to tell in the picture!

So, we added more water for more fun!

That's what I'm talkin about!

Gavin loves to bite chins because it feels good on his gums! Doesn't feel so good to the person he's doing it to. Way to take one for the team, Mima!

G-Man and Daddy

We've got a little ways to grow before we actually handle the bat. But you better believe Daddy will have him swinging as soon as it' s possible!

I think Gavin's got the upper-hand here! Looks like he might be going for an ear!

The Neally Pond

With Papa being such an avid fisherman, he decided they could not build a new house without a pond! :-) No seriously, Mima and Papa thought it would be lots of fun for the grandkids to have a pond to be able to fish, swim, boat, and skip rocks. As mentioned earlier, the big boys tried to fish over the Easter weekend but were royally unsuccessful. They blame it on the cold, but I'd hate to admit that I couldn't catch a fish in a new pond with hundreds of fish, too!

Here is Papa sharing his fishing knowledge with Gabe.

Still no fish, but a good view of what will someday be the dock.

"Papa, aren't there supposed to be fish on the end of that line?"

After giving up on fishing, Clint and Papa decide to clean out the paddle boat. (A very generous gift from Uncle Brian and Aunt Tonja last summer.)

Bball PJs

Mima was able to find Pjs that came in sizes for both Gavin and Gabe. They were adorable and seem to be quite comfy. The smallest size they had for Gavin was 12 mos. We both thought he'd be swimming in them, but as you can see by his belly hanging out in the first picture, they're none too big!
